Well, let me start with explaining how came up with this name "Euphorian Chic" for my design shop. When you see the logo, you might imagine it might be related to the old version of Europian Union, EC or something, of course it has nothing to do with it.
Anyway, as you see, the word "euphorian" is from the word "euphoric". I just love the sound and the meaning of it, and made it sound like a person who loves being happy. Well, I guess nobody hates being happy. So, I thought it was perfect for my brand, and then added "chic" after that and made it more perfect. This is how I named my website as well as my brand, "Euphorian Chic".
Actually, I would like to share a little bit of story behind this logo, especially why I wanted to use the lucky clover with a little heart. It has such a heart warming memory (for me) from my childhood.
I think it was around the time I was second grade or so. One day, I was playing with my friends after school as usual and went to some field to find lucky clovers. By the way, just to make sure, when I say "lucky clover", it means the clover with 4 leaves. (I suppose it is the same in America. Right? I got a comfirmation from a girl who answered my blog. Thanks to her!) Also, when I say clovers, usually, I mean the plant you see in the picture below.

By the way, there is actually another "Omake" story related to "lucky clovers". So, let me tell you that real quick. Now you all know that I have picked the Kan Kan gusa lucky clover when I was a child. Actually I had almost forgot about it since then, and never really determined to try to find a lucky clover ever again. So, though I always knew there were clover plants all over around my house, except that I pick the pink flowers sometimes, they have became weeds to me as well.
Therefore, in another words, until recently I had never found the real lucky clover, not a Kan Kan gusa one.....Yes. I said, "until recently." which means, of course, I finally found it. But, this time it was by accident! On September 7th 2005, when I went for jogging in the morning, suddenly, something caught my eyes. What was interesting to me was that I was running (and walking) on the same route many times already, but that kind of thing never happened before. The particular day, my eyes suddenly caught something in its corners, and at the same moment, I knew it was a lucky clover. After taking several steps back, I tried to find it and found out it was indeed a lucky clover! Well, to be exact, that's what I thought at that moment, because I was sure that the clover had more than three leaves!
However, when I tried to look at it closely, there was something funny about it again. I counted the leaves again, and this time, as if it was blaming for its lack of "luck", I found the 5th leaf behind the 4th leaf. It was a 5 leaf lucky clover. So, I tried to find another one. Usually when you find a 4 leaf clover, another one could be found from the same root a lot. And I was right. This time, I found the real 4 leaf one, but only it was a little bit ugly. Well, for a moment, though some negative thought crossed my mind, like "Maybe I will never be able to find the real normal lucky clover...", who cares. Some people might never be able to find the rare 5 leaf clover! It must be lucky! I said to myself.
To say from the conclusion, it seems they were indeed lucky clovers. The very next day, I received the news that my song became one of the top 5 finalists of the adult comtemporary category of VH1 songwriting contest. Though I am old enough not to depend on a superstition or just a luck anymore, it made me happy, of course. And also, the person who answered my blog apparently has found the 5 leaf clover too. I truly wish her good luck!
Here is the picture of those lucky clovers. Come to think of it, if there are 4 leaf clovers, there can be 5 leaf clovers. But, when you actually found it, it does make you feel somewhat special, you know. So, it's not a bad thing.

I know the name of this plant in Japanese, it is called "Shirotsumekusa". It usually makes white or pinkish little flowers. I see the similar plants here in America. I don't know the name of it in English. I think people are calling them just weeds here. But, I am sure they are all in the same family. It is just both leaves and flowers are bigger and flowers are more pink side than white. (Well, everything in America seems big to me, so I am not surprised.) Anyway, at that time, the field I and my friends went was the place where "Shirotsumekusa" were growing, and that was where my friends found a lucky clover before.

I remember I was so eager to find it at that time. But, on that day, even my friends didin't seem to be able to find one. It was getting dark already and we were about to go home. And I who kind of gave up looking for one in "Shirotsumekusa" bushes, suddenly felt like looking for it at another spot which was right under a orange tree where we usually see a lot of weeds. There were indeed a lot of weeds growing, especially the one called "Kan Kan gusa". (I don't even know if it was a real name or not, though..) You see this weed everywhere in America too. There is a picture of it on your right. It makes litte yellow flowers and has such a strong root. It is the weed that we all want to get rid of from our gardens. As a child, I even thought this Japanese name "Kan Kan gusa" is perfect for this weed, because it sounds so cheesy.

One more addition before finishing this. 4 weeks later, I found another 3 lucky clovers again from the same spot. 2 of them were eaten by worms or something, but third one was pretty normal. Normal size, normal shape, normal 4 leaf lucky clover. There is a saying "Third time's the charm", I guess it's true. Though any particular fortunate event hasn't happened to me after that, and I am still waiting for that, it already made me once when I found them. So, I guess that's enough for now.
Maybe, it is just a superstition, maybe it could really bring a l luck. Who knows. But, I think the key to happiness is just a state of mind. If you could find something that makes you feel happy in anyway in whatever situations you are in, I think you could easily be a happy person. Well, it may not always easy to be the person, but that's my prayer and the reason why I decided this name, Euphorian Chic for my product line.  Hope you enjoy my shop: www.cafepress.com/euphorianchic

Love to all,

Regular Clovers
Kan Kan gusa
Anyway, I somehow felt like looking in those "Kan Kan gusa" bushes thinking this could be called clovers as well. It was really getting dark, and I could hardly see the leaf of it under the tree anymore. But, right about the time I almost gave up and decided to go home, there it was, I picked the one that looked like having 4 leaves.
I looked at it very closely. It was a "Kan Kan gusa", not a "Shirotsumekusa" that I was expecting. But, it indeed had 4 leaves which means "Lucky" to me. However, beside the fact it was a "Kan Kan gusa", there was one more little downside. That was, as if it was stuck with it by mistake, the 4th leaf was smaller than the rest of three.
Well, whether it was not a "Shirotsume kusa", whether its 4th leaf was a little smaller, I remember I was such a happy bunny for the rest of the day. My friends who had found a lucky clover before couldn't find it that day, and I'd never heard of anyone who had found "Kan Kan gusa" with 4 leaves before. You know, when you were kids, you try to find every possible reasons to make yourself feel special. So, I was happy. Though I don't remember what I did with my first not-so-perfect-lucky clover afterward, (I am easy to forget one thing that seemed important a minute ago, and start another thing sudddenly,) I always remember how special I felt after picking this little weed.
When I was trying to design the logo, somehow I remembered this not-so-perfect-lucky clover, and felt like using it. For me who loves heart shape very much, the Kan Kan gusa lucky clover with heart shape leaves was perfect, and the little 4th leaf made it more perfect to add a little more "love" to it! Ha!
I personally believe that everything happens for some reason. So, maybe this little childhood incident of mine, picking up the not-so-perfect clover was for me to create this logo many years later. If I could find a regular lucky clover at that time, of which leaves are rounded, I might not have even recall this memory and wanted to use it for the logo. When I started to think that way, it made me more happy, you know. What a easy way to feel happy. I really want to pad on my shoulder by myself.
So, this is the story behind the name "Euphorian Chic". I hope you all enjoy this website.
